NEWTOWN, PA – September 17, 2001 — Afilias, the .INFO registry, today announced that due to the tragic events of September 11, it has modified its registration schedule for the public rollout of the new .INFO domain. Afilias will now accept requests for domain names to be processed as part of the initial queue of names through September 21, 2001, modified from the original date of September 18.

'With deference to all affected by the tragic circumstances surrounding the events of September 11, Afilias felt it necessary to make some schedule changes to ensure fairness to all registrants, and the registrars who serve them,' said Hal Lubsen, CEO of Afilias.

Registration Schedule

• September 22, 2001: .INFO domain names awarded during the Sunrise Period (July 25 - August 27) will now begin to resolve through Internet browsers. This has been modified from the original date of September 19.
• September 27, 2001: Names requests submitted through September 21 will be processed and awarded, and will resolve on this date.
• October 1, 2001 - Real-time registration commences.
